High Resolution
Looking forward to more of less in twenty-twenty-six
Yesterday I wrote about my New Year’s resolution to post fewer photos more often.
If you can’t be gung ho the day after the resolution, it says something pretty damning about your resolve. Rather than be damned if I don’t, I’m posting my first four photos of twenty-twenty-six.
All of them were recorded in Tours on New Year’s Day. It’s not every day that I happen upon four shots worth taking, editing, and publishing. I can’t expect such good fortune every time I wander around with a camera, so I have to acknowledge that the photo-gods smiled upon me yesterday.
I titled this photo Living Room because the focal point looks like an old-fashioned cabinet television. Upon reflection it is interesting how the flat screen television seems to be the focal point of the living room these days. Back when televisions required big wooden cabinets they were rarely the focal point relative to the other furniture.
Sky Light is a photo of an actual skylight through an exterior window reflecting the actual sky making the image appear like it might have been silk screened.
I’m not sure about what it is with this one, but I like the colours and find the shapes to be interesting in that they give the impression of depth and movement.
I was first attracted by the colour combination of brown and that shade of blue. I felt a sense of déjà vu in the tongue and groove wood panelling, a common decorating feature of homes back in the day where I grew up. The blue forms comment on family resemblance as they look alike but are each unique.

Resolution is such a great word, a promise we make and a necessity for reading a detailed image. Seeing more fully is the heart of your project. I look forward to seeing less and more from your vision in 2026.
